At first I was secretly happy that all of us only ordered a bowl of soup each at The Soup Spoon, but after that we headed to Coffee Club and had mudpie, chicken wings, and potato skins loaded with cheese cos’ Ash bought an online deal voucher. *Flips table.

Annual SJAB reunion steamboat at Vian’s house and we were photobombed by Nikki (whom is the dog btw).

No more new year mood liao, and people are starting to talk about Valentine’s Day, but meh. Valentine’s to me is just a commercialised day to kill innocent flowers, make your wallets bleed and make singles feel #foreveralone. Hahaha.

Anyway, I’ll be helping out my cousin to sell Chocolate Origin cakes at Taka Valentine’s Day fair. TALK ABOUT IRONY. But duncha worry, their cakes (available in original and dark) will still be retained at original pricing and they each come with a lovely cake box designed by yours truly.

It was Loti’s clique housed in a WARM cosy room at Concorde Hotel. There were gifts exchange lotsa drinking blah blah blah. Was supposed to be moustache themed la but nobody gave a damn lol.

I even made the “poster” so everyone could pose with it and the moustaches, but it seemed like only us girls were interested in photo taking while the guys went crazy on the alcohol.

Loti is starting to complain that I have too much people to entertain. Lynn commented, “If you were to give 30% to each group, you might as well give 100% to just one?” IDK! Perhaps it’s the idealist in me that makes me want to please everyone, but maybe it’s really time I should learn to say no.

Anyhows, every year seem to pass faster each time. It will be Christmas in five days, but I haven’t really gotten in the mood lei. Been feeling so lethargic recently. It’s the rain, must be. Yeah, just blame it on the weather.

Turns out, the cafe was more like a Japanese mini-mart with a cui setup and Doraemon merchandise all over.

Ok lah, cannot blame them because they change a theme every month and that’s a lot of effort.

But serve us better food lah! Or better presentation, at the very least.

We paid $16 each (AT DEAL PRICE) and it really felt like a scam.

All these gummies and sweets like 骗小孩子 one.

They said they’ll upload their fan drawings to their Facebook page so I drew a ‘Superdoragaenehmon.’ WAI THEY NO UPLOAD? T_T

My very first surprise started off at Arbite.

It was a casual makan date with Vivi, Stella and Sock – trying out this new restaurant that we had failed to do so the previous time, and then, voila! There came a birthday cake.

Totally didn’t see that coming. Thanks girls! :D

Then, there was a homely potluck picnic last Saturday because of the ruthless rain.

Loti made tomato loti bruschetta and I’m guilty that I didn’t help at all :(

This time round, two surprises – one is an erotic sex doll and another a cake hahahahaha! (Actually, we were just fooling around with the PS3 controllers which look very much like vibrators.)

I BHB-ly ASSUME that it was a birthday celebration in disguise though Yun didn’t mention the slightest thing. She totally didn’t wish me happy birthday on my actual day either which made me quite sad. Turns out, she dropped me a very sweet surprise straight to my house instead! More on that later.

Birthday eve was with Loti. He took half day leave and took me for lunch at Pasta Inc.

I saw ‘Burberry’ staring in my face the moment I unwrapped it. At first I was shocked. Then I was pissed. I was thinking why the hell did he splurge on something which he couldn’t really afford now and something that I wouldn’t fancy.

Until I opened the box and saw this.

It was a diving mask along with the sweetest message :) Love it!

Actual birthday was badminton with my poly mates and lunch at Ichiban Sushi after.

Frankly speaking, birthdays no longer excite me that much anymore but I’m glad to be blessed with awesome people around me. In life as you grow older (literally), you’ll know who are the people you matter to (and who remembers your day despite turning off your facebook birthday reminder wahahaha) and who are keepers. I’m speaking generically and not just on birthdays of course. Love ya’all!
